Next Steps at SCC
At Steamboat Christian Center, we believe that everyone has a next step, no matter where you are in their journey of faith. Whether you have yet to believe in Christ, or you have been a follower all your life, God has a next step for you!
2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life begins!”
What an awesome promise! We want you to know that God has an amazing future for you and starting to follow Him is only the beginning of the great adventure that lies ahead! If you are ready to start this incredible journey and take a leap of faith, please contact us! We would love to point you in the direction of some great next steps and resources.
The Bible clearly teaches that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to follow Christ. Baptism allows a believer to go public with their decision. If you have questions
about baptism, we’re here to help.
Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved.” (Mark 16:15-16). Baptism is a public declaration of a personal transformation. It’s letting go of our old life and coming alive to a new life in Christ. If you’re ready to take this important next step or if you want to learn more, let us know!
At Steamboat Christian Center, we believe that YOU are invaluable and irreplaceable, and that YOU have a unique gift to use for Him. Through SCC’s serving teams, we want to provide easy avenues for you to give what you have and serve the guests that come to our church, as well as serve those in our community.
From Host Team (ushers, greeters, coffee and more), Creative Arts (music, sound, media), NextGen (children and youth), Cheers, Missions, and Serve1, start using your gifts to serve others today!
Is your Next Step serving?
New to SCC?
At SCC, we recognize how hard it is to meet people and make friends. We want to help you along in that process by giving you a chance to come to a casual, hassle-free Newcomer’s Reception to meet the staff of our church, meet some other new people and hear just a little bit about us.
We host Newcomer’s Receptions every other month! Great food is provided, and you can come and go. We also have
childcare available. Sign up today.
Connect Groups & Events
At SCC, we value growing smaller as we grow larger! Connect Events are planned throughout the year for men, women, couples, singles and 20 somethings to meet others and find a connection point at our church.
Connect Groups are designed to provide opportunities for you to discover potential friendships that will last, and people to grow, laugh and serve with. We as believers are designed to thrive in community with others and grow better together!
Be ONE Partner
We are committed to investing in you as you invest in our church, and thank you for considering not just being a part of SCC, but a Partner…
We want to create a community of contributors here at our church, who understand the value of joining together to do something great for Christ. SCC Partners commit to be Obedient to Christ in every area of their lives, Serve the needs at SCC, and Connect with people here at our church. Join us for our next Partners meeting coming up soon!
Give at SCC
Our vision at Steamboat Christian Center is to reach EveryOne for Christ. We are committed to growing in our passion for God and compassion for others. Your generous financial giving allows us to work together to wisely steward resources to fulfill the vision God has called us to pursue.
The Cheers Team at Steamboat Christian Center exists to provide tangible help and care to those in our church and community who are in need. Our primary focus is single parents and the elderly that oftentimes do not have the support of a spouse or family. We are the first responders to show God’s love by caring for each other and those around us.
Maybe your Next Step is serving those in need through the Cheers Team? We are looking for people to serve in providing: meals, childcare, light labor, car repair, snow shoveling, lawn care, hospital visits, or other skills you have to share. Or are you in need or know someone who is? Please let us know!
When you serve, you discover that often the most important things you have to offer are not things at all. You start to uncover the full range of resources at your disposal – your time, presence, attention – and recognize that the ability to give stems from a state of mind and heart.
At SCC, our desire as a church is to share God’s love in our community – SERVE1 is an easy way for each person to get involved in serving our community. Whether it be serving your neighbor or lending your talents to a large city event, a myriad of opportunities await and welcome your involvement!
Missions at SCC
SCC believes in missions, both around the world and down the street. We are incredibly privileged to be able to support over 45 missionaries, here in Steamboat, in Colorado and in over 20 countries globally. Ten percent of all income at SCC goes directly towards missions efforts, supporting so many diverse groups and ministries. How can you be a part?
Pray for our missionaries around the world, serve with our local missions efforts (Serve1), go on a missions trip and work alongside one of our missionaries around the world! Contact us to see what opportunities are available.
Stephen’s Ministry is a ministry that offers trained volunteers to provide quality Christian care in a confidential one on one relationship. If you or someone you know is going through a hard time, a Stephens Minister could provide weekly ongoing supportive care. Stephen Ministers can help people as they go through many of life’s struggles, provide a friend to listen and encouragement that is so often needed as we go through life.
If you would be interested in talking with one of our team members or know someone who might benefit from Stephen’s Ministry, let us know. If you would also be interested in learning how to become a Stephen’s Minister, we would love to chat.
